What Is SEO for Videos on Google
Search
Engine Optimization for YouTube, also called video ranking, stands for a set of
techniques that help optimize the content you’ve added so that people will find
it when they search. If a user searches in the title of your video, they will
be shown several options to choose from. When users click on an alternative
result, we call it “a second chance to show your work.”
In Google’s algorithm, these two types of data
are considered by them to be important. Search engines take this information
into consideration when ranking the videos. So we can say that if there are
many choices, then Google’s algorithms are going to look at all those options.
It is said that Google wants videos with the most views over the others.
Another
point here is that even when someone searches a different keyword related to
the original topic, he or she still has to pay attention to that particular one
because it is already present in the content. The more times you use it, the
more points you get and that’s what Google understands. As soon as you watch your
video, you have a way to know whether or not it is good enough for its purpose.
These kinds of rankings are done using video
descriptions, keywords, Meta descriptions, tags, tags, metadata, etc. There is
no guarantee that this will work for every video but it works great. Most
often, our description is only five characters, but the titles and tags are
usually more than 100. You must get your keywords and description right to be
able to display ads. And the best thing is, it’s just like being on vacation! Not
only will you discover new things, but you can also use YouTube as a social
network.
Video
descriptions will be displayed in both vertical and horizontal screen
directions. If you want to see how the videos are showing up on a regular
basis, visit YouTube’s home page and you will see something similar to a map
where the videos are displayed next to each other and you can follow them by
clicking on their pages. Here, you can select the video you want to check out,
which should always be the latest one, from the list, and open and play it
until the end. Now, let’s move on to a little bit about links. A link, much
like a button, sends us a message and takes us somewhere else.
This is why it’s very useful – we just need to
enter a website address and click on “view” and it shows us where to go next.
But sometimes, because we don’t know where to go and want to find something
else, we want to click again instead of “view”, so they’ll also show us another
place. To avoid that kind of mistake, let’s add a comment so that other viewers
can also see it. Commenting on comments is known to be helpful. Here and there,
there are different ways to do it. Some are really creative.
Here are some things you can do: comment on
the video if it is not that interesting to you, write down an idea about it (if
there are any), reply to comments (that won’t change anything), follow the
comments. But there are also a lot of tools for you to make things easier and
more convenient. Let’s face it: We don’t want that kind of problem. To have

How Are Videos Rank In Google? How Does
Google Rank
When I
talk about google ranking for videos, I always suggest you to check out this
tool: Google Ranking Console, or GRC for short. Its interface is a desktop app
that allows you to analyze your own site for keywords, or YouTube for keywords.
They give a pretty good overview of how Google ranks videos.
As you may see on the table, our video
descriptions can be found very often among the top items. However, what most
often happens is that keywords “youtube for kids games”, “youtube for
preschoolers kids”, “YouTube for toddler kid’s toys”, are not found in the
first position.
Some
things are hidden with simple keywords but Google doesn’t notice. So if you
write “youtube for dogs toys” in GRC, it will return almost nothing (a few
terms in the “YouTube Family Games” category). That’s because keywords that are
too vague or generic will be skipped. But that’s not the case, because you
haven’t given Google any specific keyword.
You should give your keywords in order to show
what you have in mind. The main thing to remember is that when you’re writing,
try to put your audience’s interests in it.
You will
also see that your videos with long tail keywords are more likely to appear in
the lower ranks than those with short tail keywords.
It is
worth mentioning that Google uses “semantic match” to determine the quality of
videos and determines the search results on Google (and YouTube). According to
them, videos can be considered high grade when the keywords are used in the
subject.
So it
makes sense that they would consider it the same level as well. Because when we
talk about keywords, words and phrases, we usually talk about topics and people
who are interested in it. Using semantic match is much better for finding what
you’re looking for.
Semantic match is the method that helps the
system distinguish between keywords and the target. This algorithm is based on
comparing the context that makes the video. For instance, say that when your
video is about cars, and some person mentions a car, you can have a huge overlap
between these terms. Then, Google will notice this and decide that this video
belongs to the “car” category. Or another example are animals – cats and dogs.
Dogs can come in almost anywhere, whereas cats are very limited. Cats can only
be seen in certain places so dog owners have to keep their pets at home. Google
will understand this difference and recognize it.
So semantic match is a good method for showing
how deep your videos go. Just add yourself in the title and describe yourself
through it without giving up any information.
What about Images?
There are
also a couple of problems with keywords. Image searches also tend to be very
problematic. People tend to upload images and forget that they have to wait for
a while (usually 20 seconds) to load. But when people upload a picture, they
cannot change it and it seems like someone took their photo and uploaded an
image.
So here, it’s easy to be fooled. You can
easily manipulate an image by selecting a filter, changing color and adding a
background. This is often a big mistake and it can bring Google back a lot of
money (or maybe even worse: a decrease in traffic and revenues). Therefore, it
isn’t safe to put keywords directly on images. Don’t use keywords and try to do
general searches on pictures.
How to Use Keywords to Show Thumbnails on
Your Website
As you
see on the table, Google can see three different classifications: full
thumbnail, mid-thumbnail, side-footer, and footer. First of course, the full
size will show what’s available on your website and all the links and buttons.
But Google will also show a snippet of your description in the center of that
section.
For your
posts, it can be useful to optimize your keywords by including as much keyword
related information as possible. Add these keywords in the description and try
to provide as much information as possible. More description leads to a higher
score.
Try to mention keywords that are already
mentioned among your post titles. Include keywords that contain multiple
categories or subcategories (e.g., the video game industry, photography,
fitness or dance), rather than mentioning the whole article title. Also, don’t
forget the category – this will help you show off that video on the homepage.
But
Google, by combining the text and keywords, can see even more categories and
find exactly what you have in mind. That’s one of the reasons why the majority
of bloggers don’t use keywords. You can think about any field of interest and
start typing about it (especially about videos), but Google says that you
cannot show videos that do not belong to it. You can include anything in the
YouTube description but you have to be specific about it.
Adding links here and there to your stories is
necessary but not enough. You have to provide information and create categories
for your categories. Keep the structure of your post, keep all your keywords.
Think of the headline and try to keep as many of them as possible (not only
keywords).
Be specific, but as much as you can, keep your
keywords. You may need to use AdWords on this and I’ve included links for you
to read our blog posts there.
Video Optimizing Tips To Build Relevance
So,
you’ve finally finished, which means that now you can optimize your videos and
you’ll finally be able to show them properly. The very first thing to do is to
work on your hashtags.
These are
used everywhere – if you post on Twitter, all the hashtags will be visible to
you, unless you’ve deleted them or have changed the settings on the account.
But you can do that for free (but it’ll cost you to increase your visibility).
All the
hashtags should be connected to the post title and be descriptive. Think about
keywords and think about categories
